Ameena Qobrtay graduated from Rutgers–New Brunswick in May 2022 with a double major in journalism and media studies, women's, gender, and sexuality studies, and a minor in political science. She is currently an associate editor at the academic publisher Springer Nature

Ameena is an aspiring journalist interested in writing about technology, feminism, Muslim identity, and pop culture. As an undergraduate, she has written dozens of articles and was the Features Editor of Rutgers' independent student newspaper the Daily Targum and the first Lead Editor of the new media site Muslim.co.

When she's not writing or reading, Ameena enjoys reading science-fiction, guessing the natal charts of fictional characters, and plotting ways to dismantle the patriarchy.
